NEW Advancment NAVADMIN 114/11 Policies Will They HELP or HURT?

  The NEW Advancement NAVADMIN 114/14 was released a couple weeks back and all I hear are negative things;

“This sucks now it will be harder for ME to advance!”

“Evals are a sham and now they count for 60% of my FMS!  Gauss I’ll have to suck even  more brass to Make Chief!”

“WTF without the award points for my good conduct I lose X points!”

Is it really that BAD? Surely this thing can't just be a flaming pile horse $h!^?

Tips for Navy high year tenure (Things you may not know)

What is high year tenure?  First direct from the instruction;

 “ High Year Tenure (HYT) program  is a vital and effective force shaping tool to properly size and shape the active and Reserve Navy.”  “HYT Is a total force policy which establishes standardized length-of-service gates by pay grade balanced with a waiver process that allows Navy to retain the right Sailor.”  “The standardized HYT gates are established to allow Sailors the greatest flexibility to stay Navy in a stabilized force.”

In other words if you don’t make rate in the allotted time in the HYT policy then they will kick you out to make room for others.  So make rate and you will be fine but what if you can’t make rate?  This list is going to be stuff you may be able to do to stay in PAST your HYT and a few tips to make rate.

Are You Ready For a Sucky Deployment

Deployments can either be a blast or completely SUCK.   There are many things that factor into the equation of a bad or good deployment, how long it is, what ship you are on, your chain of command, what the Navy needs of your ship, and the crew  are all things you CAN’T change.

Is NKO really down again!?

Have you ever wondered is Navy Knowledge Online really ONLINE?   Here is a cool little website you can tell you if you are the only one not able to get to NKO or if it is a bigger problem;

Not only will this site tell you if the site is up but it will give you a graph of when it has been down and how long.   So use this the next time you can’t get to NKO or if you just want to know if it is working.
